Feel The Flavors Of The Holidays With This Gingerbread Cocktail

Ingredients:
Syrup
1 C Water
1 ½ C Sugar
1 1-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
3 whole cloves
Espresso
1 C boiling water
2 T instant espresso powder
3-4 T hazelnut liqueur (Frangelico), optional
4 oz Kahlua
Syrup directions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and
simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sugar has dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat and
allow the syrup to cool, about 20 minutes. Using a pair of tongs, remove the spices.
Espresso directions
In a glass measuring cup, whisk together boiling water, espresso powder, and liqueur (if using), until
powder is dissolved. Set aside to cool.
Combine
1 C syrup with espresso mix in a large martini shaker. Add Kahlua and shake to combine. Pour over ice
filled glasses and serve. Enjoy!
